September 11, 2001 changed America forever. We are certain most people can recall where they were when this major crisis affected our country. Since that event, all across the land we continue to endure a variety of terrorist-like episodes like the most recent one in NYC just a few days ago. Because of this, you need to protect your family. In order to prepare for a serious disaster or crisis, use our Urgent Legal Xpress Crisis Checklist to lean on the shield of protection to handle these issues:
1.Make a list of each family member, including their full name, date of birth, social security number and any medical information;
2.Make a list of each employer including address, phone numbers and any password information;
3.Make a list of each person's school information, including address, phone numbers, computer login information and teacher information;
4.Make a list of all bank accounts including account numbers and insurance policies,including health/medical, life, homeowners, etc. along with policy numbers;
5.A list of all doctors and medical providers along with their contact information;
6.Have your estate plan finalized as soon as possible, inclusive of your will, healthcare directive, and power of attorney; and
7.Store all of the information in a fire-proof box or a safe deposit box.

Q: My house was foreclosed on 6 months ago and the mortgage debt was satisfied. A notice came from the clerk of court indicating there was surplus of money at the courthouse after the case was closed. Am I entitled to those funds and how do I get them?
A: There is a type of motion you can file with the clerk of court to apply for those funds. Once filed the clerk will make a determination if you should be entitled to those funds through that process.
