Be Like Nike
Feb. 22, 2015
Dear Loyal Panther Fans, CIAA Fans, Clients, Friends and Family!
My mother used to say, "You need to get outta that rut. What are you afraid of?" When I decided to launch the Monday Morning Lawyer, I had no idea what impact the newsletter might ultimately have on anyone who received it. Week after week I continue to receive very positive feedback about it and for that I am very grateful.
In fact I was blessed with some very kind remarks from an old colleague this past week to this effect, "For a while, I have been wanting to say that I am proud of you. In you, I see someone who has attempted all the things I have wanted to do but for one reason or another, I did not do it. Continue to be encouraged in all that you do and inspire others to follow their dreams."The road to entrepreneurship can be difficult, trying and also fulfilling! If you are on the fence about starting your own business, be like Nike and just do it! Do know there are many others just like you. Here are some key steps that helped me along the way:
1.Make a list of the reasons you want to start your own business (You have to know your passion and follow it);
2.Be confident in what path you choose to take (Never ever let Doubt be your master);
3. Know that you will make mistakes, but grow from them (I've lost a few cases..not many, but I learned from them. No one is perfect, but strive for success at all times);
4.Count your victories daily (The small things really do matter and you gain confidence from them...when each of you read my newsletter, this is a victory to me!); and
5.Surround yourself with the right people (You need people in your personal and professional life who can be outlets, mentors, advisors, and friends).

Q & A with Eric A. Montgomery, Esq.
Q: My aunt recently slipped and fell in a grocery store last week and injured her arm. Does she have a valid personal injury claim?
A: It depends. North Carolina is a "contributory negligence" state, which simply means if you are 1% at fault in an accident, it can act as a bar to recovery. Therefore it is important to have an experienced attorney properly evaluate your claim. C all us at The Montgomery Law Firm if you need to have personal injury cases reviewed for consideration.
